TOBIT (Catholic Bible)

Tobit

In Nineveh lived Tobit true
He walked with God in all he knew
He gave the poor his daily bread
& buried strangers who lay dead

But sorrow came his sight grew dim
He lost his eyes yet prayed to Him
In grief he begged the Lord to hear
His heart was worn his hope unclear

At distant land young Sarah wept
For seven husbands death had swept
A demon struck each wedding night
She cried to God for mercy’s light

The Lord then heard both cries of pain
He planned a path through loss & strain
He sent His angel Raphael near
To guide with strength & banish fear

Tobit sent forth his only son
Young Tobias rose the task begun
To journey far with staff & hand
To claim the wealth in distant land

A fish was caught along the way
Its heart & gall would demons slay
The angel taught him what to do
To bring back sight & healing too

Tobias met with Sarah fair
He prayed with her in holy care
The demon fled God’s power strong
Their wedding blessed with joyful song

Returning home Tobias came
& healed his father in God’s name
The gall was placed the eyes could see
Tobit rejoiced in victory

The family praised the Lord above
Who heals with truth & guides in love
They blessed His name both night & day
For mercy shown along the way

So Tobit’s tale brings hope so dear
That God will always see & hear
Through trial pain & darkest test
He leads His children into rest
