Joel

Hear the word of God today

The locusts come to steal & slay

The fields are bare, the land is burned

Yet God will call, His mercy earned

Repent, O people, seek His face

Return in prayer, receive His grace

For He is slow to anger, kind

And heals the hearts that seek to find

The priests shall mourn, the people cry

Lift up your hearts, your souls draw nigh

Sound the trumpet, call a fast

The day of the Lord is coming fast

The heavens tremble, earth will shake

Yet God will save for His own sake

The faithful dwell in holy light

The wicked flee from His great might

He pours His Spirit on the young

Their hearts will sing, their praise be sung

Old men shall dream, the young shall see

Visions of God’s great victory

The Lord will judge the nations all

He lifts the humble, makes them tall

The fire of justice cleanses sin

And righteousness shall enter in

The land shall bloom, the vine shall grow

The threshing floor shall overflow

God’s people dwell in peace & song

Their enemies will not be strong

Return, O Judah, seek His hand

Let all your hearts obey His command

For He restores the faithful soul

And brings His mercy to make whole

Thus Joel warns, instructs & shows

That God’s own Spirit freely flows

Through trial, plague, or dark despair

His steadfast love is always there
