Nahum
The Lord declares His justice strong
Against the wicked, against the wrong
Nineveh, your pride has soared so high
Yet God will strike, your towers will lie
The flood of wrath will sweep the land
No army strong can make a stand
Your lies & cruelty, your boastful cheer
Shall vanish quickly, none to hear
He is slow to anger, yet fierce & true
His vengeance falls, His word will do
The oppressor’s heart shall melt with fear
The Lord Almighty draws so near
Though waters roar, though nations rage
His power turns the mightiest page
The lion roars, the prey shall flee
God’s justice reigns eternally
The city crumbles, gates thrown down
The streets are filled with grief & frown
The proud are humbled, the wicked fall
The Lord avenges, He judges all
The shields are broken, the soldiers flee
The walls collapse, the land is free
He lifts the humble, guards the just
The faithful trust, in Him they trust
His wrath is strong, His mercy sure
The Lord’s own covenant shall endure
The enemies of His people fall
Yet He redeems, He saves them all
Though Nahum speaks of doom & woe
He shows God’s hand in overthrow
The oppressor trembles at His might
The righteous walk in holy light
Thus Nahum warns the hearts of men
Yet points to God who saves again
Through fury, fire, & judgment flame
His justice shines, His love the same
