MARK

 The gospel begins with the prophet’s call

Prepare the way make paths for all

John baptizes in Jordan’s flow

Calling the people to turn & know

Jesus appears baptized that day

The Spirit descends the heavens say

This is My Son whom I love

Anointed with power from above

He calls His disciples one by one

Fishermen leave when the work’s begun

Casting out demons healing the lame

All creation declares His name

Crowds surround from far & near

Parables spoken for all to hear

A sower casts seed some lost some grown

The kingdom revealed yet partly shown

He calms the storm with peace be still

The waves obey His sovereign will

The blind receive sight the mute can sing

The sick are restored by heaven’s King

Five thousand fed with loaves & fish

Grace overflowing beyond each dish

He walks on water the night so deep

The disciples struggle but cannot keep

He teaches truth with wisdom sure

The greatest is servant humble & pure

A child in the midst shows heaven’s way

The first shall be last on judgment day

On mountain high His glory shines

Moses & Elijah by His side

The Father speaks to make it clear

This is My Son so all must hear

He enters Jerusalem hailed as King

Hosannas rise as the children sing

The temple cleansed the tables fall

His cross draws near His final call

The bread is broken the wine is shared

Gethsemane’s prayer in sorrow bared

Betrayed by Judas denied by friend

Yet God’s great plan will never bend

Crucified high between the thieves

Darkness covers the world that grieves

The tomb is empty the stone rolled away

He is risen victorious day

Go tell the nations spread the word

He lives forever our risen Lord
