JUDGES

Judges: A Cycle of Rise and Fall

After Joshua, leaders fade,
No king to guide, no firm crusade.
God raises judges, flawed but strong,
To save His people from their wrong.

Israel sins, then cries for aid,
Oppressors come, their lives invade.
God sends a judge to set them free,
But soon again they’ll fail to plea.

Othniel, Ehud, and Deborah’s song,
Barak and Gideon all lead along.
Jephthah’s vow and Samson’s might,
Each brought freedom, fought the fight.

Yet each time peace would briefly stay,
The people’s hearts would drift away.
They worshiped idols, turned from God,
Breaking faith, the sacred bond flawed.

A cycle spins: sin, despair,
Repentance, help, then back to care.
Chaos grows with tribe and clan,
No ruler’s law, just tribal plan.

Through battles, flaws, and moral strife,
God’s mercy gave His people life.
Judges led, imperfect guides,
Till kings would rise to end divides.
