Jonah
The Lord commanded Jonah flee
To Nineveh, across the sea
But he ran west, from God’s own call
Yet God pursued, He cares for all
A storm arose upon the waves
The sailors feared, their hearts like graves
They cast the lots, the lot was his
He told the truth, confessed his mis
Thrown into sea, the waters raged
A giant fish his life engaged
Three days & nights within its hold
He prayed to God, his fear controlled
The Lord then caused the fish to spit
Jonah arose, no longer split
He journeyed on to Nineveh
To preach repentance, truth to see
The people heard, their hearts did change
From kings to lowly, wide in range
They fasted, prayed, & turned from sin
And God withheld the wrath within
Jonah complained, his heart was sore
He feared God’s mercy more & more
The Lord then taught through plant & sun
Compassion shines when hearts are won
Though Jonah balked, the lesson clear
God loves the lost, both far & near
He spares the city when they pray
And guides the wanderer on the way
The story shows that God’s great care
Extends to all, beyond compare
Through disobedience, trial, & fear
His mercy, love, and truth are near
Thus Jonah stands for every soul
To trust God’s plan, surrender whole
Though we may run, or hide, or flee
His calling comes, His love sets free
