JOHN

 

In the beginning the Word was there

With God & God the world to share

Through Him all things were made & bright

Life & light shining in the night

John the Baptist comes to prepare

A voice in the desert calling all to care

He testifies of the Lamb of God

The Savior sent to lift the sod

Jesus calls disciples one by one

To follow Him & see God’s Son

Water to wine at Cana’s feast

His glory shown from west to east

He teaches the crowds by sea & land

Love one another as I command

The blind receive sight the lame can walk

The deaf can hear & sinners talk

The Good Shepherd lays down His life

For His sheep through all their strife

Parables told of lost & found

Grace & mercy all around

The woman at the well meets the Lord

Living water her soul restored

He raises Lazarus from the tomb

Vanquishing death with endless bloom

He speaks of Spirit & truth to come

Comforter sent to guide everyone

He washes feet to show His way

Serve & love each other every day

In Jerusalem He prays & weeps

Betrayed & tried the hour creeps

Crucified high the sky turns black

Yet death cannot keep Him back

The stone rolled back the angels say

He is risen to show the way

Many signs to testify & prove

The Word made flesh the perfect love

Go tell the world far & wide

Believe & live with Him beside

He is the way the truth the light

Faith in Him brings endless life
