1 Chronicles
Adam & Seth the line goes long
Through Judah’s tribe the tale grows strong
Genealogies fill the page
A record kept from age to age
From Saul to David God did guide
To raise a shepherd as Israel’s pride
He ruled with faith & mighty hand
He brought the ark into the land
With singers loud & Levites near
He made the worship bright & clear
David planned the temple’s frame
Though Solomon would build the same
He gave the plans by Spirit’s word
A house of prayer to praise the Lord
He gathered silver gold & stone
So God’s great name would be made known
The priests were set the gatekeepers too
The tribes assigned what each should do
The armies numbered clan by clan
The rulers listed man by man
With counsel given wisdom spread
The nation followed where he led
Yet David sinned & stumbled low
But still God’s mercy chose to show
He lifted up the king once more
& promised blessings from His store
He charged his son to seek the right
To walk in truth with strength & might
The people gave with willing hearts
Each tribe each leader played their parts
Together strong they blessed the King
& raised their voices high to sing
To God of Israel praise they cried
Whose throne is set with glory wide
Then David’s reign drew near its end
He blessed his people once again
& Solomon took up the call
To build the temple great & tall
Thus Chronicles begins the song
Of heritage both deep & long
It shows the past from roots above
A story marked with faith & love
2 Chronicles
Now Solomon begins his reign
With wisdom rich & wealth to gain
He built the temple shining bright
With gold & cedar filled with light
The ark was placed the cloud came down
God’s glory filled His holy ground
The priests stood still the singers praised
The name of God forever raised
The king gave prayer with lifted hands
For mercy grace & promised lands
If people sin then turn & pray
God hears & heals them right away
But though his start was pure & true
His heart was split by wives in view
& idols stole his love inside
So peace was lost & wrath applied
Then Rehoboam took the throne
Ten tribes rebelled to rule alone
Yet Asa sought the Lord in need
& Jehoshaphat did sow good seed
Some kings would serve with hearts upright
& bring the land to truth & light
But others walked in wicked ways
They turned from God to idols’ praise
Joash began with zeal & fire
Yet later fell to false desire
Uzziah reigned with power strong
Till pride had pushed his heart to wrong
Hezekiah then prayed & sang
The temple once again out rang
With trust in God he stood so bold
& saw His mighty hand unfold
But Manasseh fell to sin so deep
Till God restored him from the heap
Josiah came with fervent zeal
The word was found the truth made real
He tore down idols cleansed the land
& strengthened worship by command
Yet after him the people strayed
& turned aside from vows they made
So Babylon rose with power vast
& burned the temple built to last
But hope remained through prophet’s call
That God would yet restore it all
Thus Chronicles with lessons clear
Calls all to trust & hold Him near
