1 Kings: A Kingdom’s Rise and Fall
Solomon rose, the wisest king,
Built the temple, made praises ring.
With wisdom vast and riches grand,
He ruled with peace across the land.
But power’s lure led hearts astray,
He worshiped idols day by day.
God’s promise broke, the kingdom split,
Ten tribes north, two south would sit.
Elijah stood with fire and might,
Challenging Baal in fierce fight.
He called the people back to God,
Though times grew dark on Judah’s sod.
Kings came and went, some good, some bad,
Some made the people joyful, glad.
Others led them far astray,
Turning from God’s holy way.
The story’s clear, a warning told,
Obey the Lord, be brave and bold.
1 Kings shows rise and fall of kings,
And how true worship always springs.
2 Kings: The Fall of a Nation
Kings came one after another’s reign,
Some brought blessing, some brought pain.
Elisha’s miracles shone bright,
Guiding Israel through darkest night.
But kings and people turned away,
From God’s commands they would not stay.
Prophets warned, but voices fell,
Till judgment came with sorrow’s knell.
Assyria conquered Israel’s land,
Scattered tribes at God’s command.
Judah lingered, but not for long,
Babylon’s power made them strong.
Temples burned, the people cried,
Exile came with none to hide.
Yet hope remained, a distant star,
That God’s great promise would go far.
2 Kings tells of rise and fall,
Of God’s great mercy through it all.
Though judgment strikes and kingdoms fade,
God’s love endures, will not evade.
