Esther
In Persia’s court King Xerxes reigned
His feast was grand his wealth was gained
But Queen Vashti refused his call
So crown was lost & pride did fall
A search began for maidens fair
& Esther found the royal chair
Her beauty shone her grace was sweet
She rose to sit on royal seat
But hidden deep her secret stayed
Her people’s name she never laid
Her cousin Mordecai was wise
He warned her well & watched with eyes
Then Haman rose with hateful pride
He schemed to see the Jews all die
The king was tricked his law was sealed
The fate of many was revealed
Yet Esther stood with courage strong
She risked her life to right the wrong
She sought the king with humble tone
& asked him spare her people’s own
A banquet set the plan was laid
The truth of Haman soon displayed
The king enraged decreed his fall
He hung on gallows built so tall
Then Mordecai received the ring
He ruled with justice near the king
A new decree gave Jews the right
To stand with strength & win the fight
The day arrived their foes were crushed
The power of God through courage rushed
They turned their mourning into cheer
& birthed the feast of Purim here
Thus Esther’s tale with wisdom clear
Shows God’s strong hand is always near
Though hidden deep He guides each choice
& saves His people by His voice
