Ecclesiastes
Life under sun is fleeting, brief
All toil & labor brings some grief
The wise may sigh, the fools may cheer
Yet death comes close, it spares no year
Vanity of vanities, the sage
Speaks truth to every heart & age
The seasons turn, the sun will rise
Yet fleeting are our earthly ties
Work hard & find the joy you can
Enjoy your spouse, your food, your clan
For God has given each delight
In days of sun, in peaceful night
The wise discern, the foolish stray
But all will face the final day
A time to laugh, a time to weep
A time to sow & time to reap
We cannot grasp what lies ahead
Nor can we count the tears we shed
Yet God’s command is clear & just
To walk in faith, in Him we trust
Remember youth, remember God
Before your strength begins to nod
For judgment comes to all on earth
But God redeems, renews our worth
Seek wisdom, walk in paths of light
Though life may fade as fleeting night
The work of hands, the fruit of soul
Are gifts to keep, to make you whole
Thus Ecclesiastes speaks so plain
That vanity is not our gain
Yet fear the Lord, obey His word
And find true life in Him, our Lord
