Daniel
In Babylon young Daniel stood
His heart was pure, his faith was good
Though exiled far from home & kin
He sought the Lord to guard within
The king assigned a diet plain
Yet Daniel chose God’s holy grain
He thrived with wisdom, mind so bright
And gave his God continual light
The king then feared his dreams at night
No magicians could make them right
But Daniel prayed, the Lord revealed
The visions deep, the future sealed
He spoke of kingdoms rising high
Of empires proud that touch the sky
Of days to come & times of doom
Yet hope remains beyond the gloom
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego
Refused the fire, their hearts did show
The furnace raged but God stood near
Their faith protected them from fear
Belshazzar feasted, drank his wine
The hand appeared, a warning sign
“Your kingdom’s weighed, your days are done”
The Lord had spoken, judgment won
Daniel in lion’s den did pray
The Lord closed mouths, kept beasts at bay
He rose unharmed, the king amazed
And praised the God whom all should praise
Visions of beasts & horns arise
The four great kingdoms meet their skies
The Ancient One will judge with might
And bring His chosen into light
Through trials, dreams, & fiery flame
Daniel stood firm & praised God’s name
His wisdom, courage, faith & prayer
Show God’s protection everywhere
Thus Daniel tells both young & old
That trust in God makes hearts so bold
Though empires fall & trials appear
The Lord remains forever near
